Versatile Everyday Herb Dressing

SIBO Friendly & Low FODMAP

SIBO Diet Herb Dressing

Having a pre made dressing makes quick meals during the week so much easier! This was one of my go to recipes to have on hand when I was on the SIBO diet since you can literally add it to any dish!

Many people believe restrictive diets get a little boring and fall into the trap of making the same meals over and over.

It doesn’t have to be this way though! By adding in a simple dressing like this one, you could eat the same base foods but have totally different different meal based on the dressing you add.

This dressing is also super versatile and can be used for any herb you have in the fridge. Try subbing out any aid base or herb depending on if you want to eat Italian, Mexican or Scandinavian! Here are my favourite ingredient combinations:

  • Lime juice & cilantro

  • Lemon juice & rosemary

  • Lemon juice & dill

  • Lemon juice & basil

  • Lemon juice & chives or green onion

  • Red wine vinegar & oregano

  • Red wine vinegar & parsley

This recipe goes great on tacos (lettuce based for SIBO), scrambled eggs, salads, bowls, meat marinades and much more!

SIBO Supportive Meal: Herbs are plant powerhouses! They’re full of antioxidants to help reduce inflammation as well as providing a variety phytonutrients needed to support the body’s healing process.

The other great thing about herbs is that they contain little or no FODMAP’s. Eating a variety of herbs during the SIBO diet is a great way to keep you plant diversity up (when many plants can be limited), needed to support growth of your good bacteria to balance you gut!

This recipe is also a great place to start when re-introducing garlic back into the diet. By starting with 1/4 or 1/2 a clove of garlic, the amount you consume is nice and small while your body adjusts. Over time the amount can be slowly introduced to 1 clove.
